VCI emitter made of injection-molded paper
Paper injection molding with VCI active ingredient

Paper injection molding with VCI

Molded part and corrosion protection in one.

Paper injection molding uses specially developed, cellulose- or fiber-based molding compounds. These can consist of paper fibers. In five precisely coordinated steps, a high-performance VCI emitter with integrated corrosion protection is produced from paper fibers and VCI active ingredient.

  1. Paper fibers and VCI active ingredient are combined.
  2. The raw materials are processed into a homogeneous molding compound.
  3. The molding compound is processed into granules and prepared for injection molding.
  4. The granules are heated and shaped as desired.
  5. The finished VCI emitter releases the active ingredient and reliably protects metal from corrosion.

A new generation of VCI molded parts

With paper injection molding, CORPAC is developing a new approach for the production of VCI-treated molded parts. The combination of fiber-based material, injection molding technology, and integrated VCI agent enables the production of complex molded parts with simultaneous corrosion protection.

The technology is patent-pending and opens up new possibilities for sustainable, plastic-free VCI applications.

Paper injection molding: Advantages at a glance

  • Corrosion protection directly in the molded part
The VCI active ingredient is an integral part of the material. This means that corrosion protection is applied directly where it is needed – on the component to be protected.
  • Two functions – one solution
The molded part simultaneously performs the protective and fixing function and offers corrosion protection through the integrated VCI active ingredient.
  • Perfectly suited to your component
Paper injection molding allows for the creation of individual geometries. This enables the molded part to be precisely tailored to the product being protected.

  • Fiber-based instead of classic plastic solution
The use of a cellulose- or fiber-based material offers an alternative to conventional plastic protective components.

  • More sustainable protection concept
The use of fiber-based materials can create an alternative to conventional plastic solutions. Depending on the material composition, application, and disposal, further potential arises for a more sustainable packaging and protection concept.
