Q: Is an emitter the same as VCI film or VCI paper?

No. While VCI films or papers are packaging materials, an emitter is a pure source of the active ingredient. It is used when the VCI packaging alone is insufficient or when additional safety is desired. VCI emitters are only used in conjunction with a tightly sealed outer packaging.

Q: When do I need an emitter in addition to VCI packaging?

For large volumes, complex geometries, long transport routes, extreme climatic conditions, or when protection needs to be enhanced.

Q: For which metals is the emitter suitable?

Typically suitable for steel, cast iron, aluminum, copper and their alloys – depending on the VCI formulation used.

* The paper fiber-based VCI emitter is suitable for applications with normal climatic conditions and protected packaging. In cases of high humidity, condensation, or particularly long transport and storage times, the application should be individually assessed and, if necessary, supplemented with additional moisture protection measures.
