The rust protection paper in the KLT
COR-pAPER® VCI-Paper
Whether directly on the product or as a cover in the small load carrier - our Cor-Paper® corrosion protection paper reliably protects your packaged goods against corrosion.
VCI paper (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor paper) is a modified paper that contains volatile corrosion inhibitors. It is used to protect metal parts from corrosion and the way VCI paper works is based on the release of volatile corrosion inhibitors. These inhibitors are chemical substances that are incorporated into the paper. The inhibitors evaporate from the paper and form a protective atmosphere around the packaged metal parts. The VCI molecules in the atmosphere interact with the metal surface and form a protective layer that protects the metal from corrosion attacks by moisture and oxygen. Corrosion reactions are slowed down or completely prevented.
The advantages of VCI paper are:
- Corrosion protection: VCI paper provides effective protection against corrosion as it forms a protective atmosphere around the metal parts.
- Easy to use: VCI paper can simply be wrapped in packaging or placed between metal parts.
- Long-term protection: The effect of VCI paper lasts over a longer period of time, even during storage or transportation.
- Versatility: VCI paper can be used for various types of metal, including iron, steel, copper, aluminum and others.
It is important to note that the effectiveness of VCI paper depends on various factors, such as the quality of the paper, the size of the packaged metal parts, the tightness of the outer packaging, the storage conditions and the duration of storage.
